Musical Bio

Laurie Lau completed an instrumental music education degree from Minnesota State University-Mankato and a Master of Music degree in flute performance degree from The Ohio State University.   She teaches private flute and piano lessons at the Wilkinson Music Studio and Immanuel Lutheran High School and College, and is the band director at Messiah Lutheran School, all in Eau Claire, WI.  Mornings find her in the Fall Creek School District music department as their music assistant.  She performs with the Chippewa Valley Symphony, the Eau Claire Municipal Band and with the chamber group Trillium Flutes.  In 2010 she founded FluteWild! Camp along with Jeanne Kolis and Rebecca Wilkinson.       

Additional Interests

Laurie and her family moved to Eau Claire from the Twin Cities about 15 years ago.  She has a husband, two grown daughters, and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Teddy.  She enjoys home improvement projects, quilting, cross stitch, and cooking (which usually all take place in the summer!)  She is a member of the National Flute Association, the Upper Midwest Flute Association and is referral contact for the Chippewa Valley Music Teachers' Association.
